VANCOUVER — Two cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the Northern Health region after originally testing positive in the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority. The two drove home under strict conditions and are in isolation. The location of the two cases has not been released.

“My understanding is that they were people who travelled outside of the country and they were identified when they were staying here in Vancouver Coastal,” said Dr. Bonnie Henry, Provincial Health Officer, during an update Saturday afternoon. “They are very stable. They have milder illness so they drove in a private car and are in isolation at home.”

Dr. Henry added she believes travel within Canada is still safe.

There are now confirmed cases in every health authority in the province. As of Saturday, there are a total of 73 confirmed cases of coronavirus in BC.
