Village of Burns Lake temporarily closes facilities in midst of COVID-19 pandemic

PRINCE GEORGE—The Village of Burns Lakes says they are taking measures to safeguard their residents during the COVID-19 pandemic with the temporary closure of a few facilities.

On March 18th the municipal office closed to the public. Staff however, will continue to work at the office and can be reached via email: village@burnslake.ca or via phone: 250-692-7587.

The Lakeside Multiplex closed is also closed as of Wednesday, March 18th.

A release from the Village of Burns Lake, says that they are in continual contact with provincial agencies and organizations to stay current with the rapidly changing events.

Adding that they recommend that community members follow federal and provincial recommendations:

  • Practicing social distancing and staying home when possible
  • Self-quarantine for 14 days if you have been travelling outside of the community
  • Cancelling unnecessary travel to other communities
  • Cancel all gatherings over 50 people

Community members are asked to visit the Village of Burns Lake’s website and Facebook page for municipal updates as well as links to provincial organizations.
