VANCOUVER — An update Saturday by the Province’s top doctor, Dr. Bonnie Henry, saw BC’s total number of confirmed coronavirus cases increase by 74 to a total of 424. Four of those cases are in the Northern Health region, meaning no new cases since the last update.

Dr. Henry also announced an order that all personal service establishments must be closed. This includes shops such as salons, spas, and tattoo parlours.

While the bulk of cases continue to be elderly people, a cluster includes the 30s-40s year of age range. Dr. Henry said that demographic is largely reflective of healthcare workers involved in other clusters. It also includes up to 20 people associated with a recently hosted dental conference in the province.

Charts and information included in Saturday’s update, as well as updated information as it becomes available, will be posted on a regular basis over the coming weeks to inform the public of how the process of flattening the curve is going. Test numbers will also be more regularly updated on the BC Centre for Disease Control website, according to Health Minister Adrian Dix.
