PRINCE GEORGE – More local changes to operations as the world continues to battle the spread of the novel coronavirus.

The main office for the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George is taking additional precautions to protect its visitors and staff from the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

Effective Monday, March 23 the office located at 155 George Street will be closed to all walk-in traffic.

Instead, anyone needing to access services is required to make an appointment ahead of time. The Regional District is still operating but is encouraging those who have essential business at the main office to call or email ahead of time to make an appointment.

People are being urged to schedule any appointments by calling the Regional District at 250-960-4400 or toll free at 1-800-667-1959. Appointment requests can also be emailed to district@rdffg.bc.ca.

“We recognize this is a significant shift in our approach to dealing with the public,” says Administrator Jim Martin. “But we are in extraordinary times and it’s imperative to put the health and safety of our visitors and staff first. Like all new measures being introduced in the province over the last week, we expect the public to understand why this change is necessary and that they not show up at our office unless they have made an appointment ahead of time.”
