Mackenzie Mayor and council making changes to protect their community

MACKENZIE – According to the Mayor of Mackenzie Joan Atkinson, her community has made a few changes to help slow the spread of COVID – 19.

The mayor and the council made a decision early last week to close all district facilities to the public.

The Facility’s staff are still working but are only taking phone calls from the public. An emergency operation centre level 1 has been established but it is not open,

According to the mayor, they don’t see a need at this point in time to open the centre.

The communities’ only grocery store has set aside from 8 am to 9 am to allow people over the age of 65 to shop.
