More caribou tracks seen than snowmobile tracks

CO’s saw more Caribou tracks than snowmobile tracks within protected areas.

PRINCE GEORGE – For the last 12 years, the Conservation Officer Service has conducted patrols within caribou closer areas to ensure motorized vehicles are not operating inside the confines of protected caribou habitat.

Recently, the CO’s made patrols and found more tracks were created my caribou than humans.

The conservation officer service keeps a watchful eye on the caribou herd that lives on the mountain ranges northeast of Prince George.

The officers patrol either by air or ground looking for snowmobilers riding in caribou protected areas.
