Prince George was set to be a hub for sports this spring with a number of high profile events coming to the city.

The World Women’s Curling Championship, the Western Ringette Championships, and the 2020 Canadian Masters Badminton Championships were all set to take place within a 6-week span and all 3 were expected to provide a boost to the economy with people coming in droves to Prince George.

However, with two of those events cancelled and the other postponed the city won’t be seeing that boost.

According to Tourism PG, they have seen a loss of 12.8 million dollars with the cancelled events so far in the city and they are expecting more.
