BC Transit makes changes to Smithers service due to COVID-19

SMITHERS—BC Transit and the City of Smithers are making changes to their transit services in response to the COVID-19 situation.

Service changes will take effect on April 6th, in a release by BC Transit they say that the service changes have taken into account having sufficient service to allow for physical distancing while on transit in BC Transit communities.

The change will include the reduction to altered Saturday service levels on all routes and the cancellation of route 22 trips at 2:30 and 2:50 p.m.

BC Transit offers more information to changes to specific trips on their website. The transit company says they will continue to monitor available resources and provide service updates on a day-to-day basis
