Prince George woman celebrates 101st birthday like never before

PRINCE GEORGE — A local family wasn’t going to let the COVID-19 pandemic get in the way of celebrating a very special lady’s birthday over the weekend.

Mary Westlake turned 101 on Saturday and to mark the occasion, her family held a drive-by birthday party on Kerry Street. Participants created signs and showed them off to Mary as they drove by.

“I think it’s wonderful,” she said. “I didn’t know anything about it until this (Saturday) morning.”
