VIA Rail extends suspension of northern BC route
Apr 6, 2020 | 7:49 AM
PRINCE GEORGE— VIA Rail announced this morning (Apr.6) that they are extending their suspension on operations of their route that runs through northern BC.
The Prince Rupert-Prince George-Jasper will remain suspended until June 1 due to travel limitations, physical distancing and isolation measures—a result of COVID-19.
Passengers who have booked trips during that time will be contacted by the company and will be reimbursed automatically.
VIA Rail has also extended their cancellation policy to include all travel through July 1 of this year. Passengers will be able to modify or cancel their reservations any time prior to departure and receive a full refund in addition to no service charges, regardless of when the ticket was purchased.
