British Columbians returning from abroad legally required to have self-isolation plan
VICTORIA—BC Premier John Horgan addressed British Columbians today from the province’s capital reminding British Columbians returning home from abroad that self-isolation is not a suggestion, it’s mandatory.
The Premier says many who are returning home are probably excited, however, will have to fall into the rhythm British Columbians in the province have been adjusting to over the past several weeks.
“We need to flatten the curve.”— PremierJohn Horgan
Returning British Columbians will be legally required to have a self-isolation plan upon return, supporting the provincial health officer’s travel orders and reinforcing the federal emergency order under the Quarantine Act requiring people entering Canada to self-isolate for 14 days. The document, which can be submitted online or completed in person on arrival, must show that returning travellers have a self-isolation plan.
