Wage subsidy expanded, businesses and charities eligible at 15% dip in revenue
OTTAWA— The Canadian government announced they are expanding the business wage subsidy that would help businesses keep their staff employed.
Trudeau began his daily announcement by touching on the beginning of Passover which begins tonight at sundown, saying that this is usually a time for Jewish families and friends to come together, but reminding Canadians that now is not the time for social gatherings.
“If our economy is to get through this we need our businesses to survive and employees to get paid.”—Justin Trudeau
The Prime Minister went on to announce that the wage subsidy—which was announced earlier this year—would include a larger span of businesses.
