NorGrow sales on hold

PRINCE GEORGE – While the Foothills Landfill and the transfer stations will remain open over the course of the long weekend, the Regional District says they are practicing physical distancing, meaning there will be wait times.

The expectation is that people will be bringing some yard waste, but certainly the remnants of a home renovation project to the landfill. However, they will not be selling NorGrow compost for the duration.

“And that’s just to take a little pressure off the staff out here, the line ups that people might be experiencing,” explains Laura Zapotichny with the Regional District. “The wait times. Once we get through this COVID situation, we’ll have compost ready to go, ready to load up for people to get into their gardens.”

In the meantime, the Regional District asks people to hang on to any waste they may have until normal operations are resumed once the COVID-19 situation has resolved.
