Lack of Broadband

Broadband resolution to be heard virtually

PRINCE GEORGE – A resolution authored by Mayor Lyn Hall that was destined for discussion at the Federation of Canadian Municipalities convention in June will be dealt with differently. That’s because the convention, like so many events, has been cancelled.

But that doesn’t mean its gone. The resolution identifies the need for a specific plan to address the lack of broadband internet services for those Canadians who live in rural parts of the country.

“That resolution isn’t lost and that message isn’t being lost,” explains Councillor Garth Frizzell, who is also the First Vice President of the FCM. He says the FCM Executive will still vote on the resolution.

Mayor Hall says the irony is not lost on him that a resolution highlighting the lack of internet services will be passed virtually.
