2020 the year of the drive-in?
PRINCE GEORGE — The Park Drive-In is expected to re-open in early May. Mother Nature has not been the kindest with lots of snow but once it’s cleared the theatre will be good to go. However, due to COVID-19 some changes will be made once the gate finally does open.
“Less time spent at the theatre, no intermissions, limited time out of your vehicle and we would prefer if you stay in [your vehicle] as much as you can, kids not running around, there’s no playground this year,” explained owner Nina Keba.
As well, capacity will be limited to half and movies down to one. The plan with those movies is to put on some classics since no new ones are going to be released. Also, some theme days are expected like for families, a dedicated day for cartoons – another day, classic horror movies or old westerns.
As for the other attractions like go-kart and mini-golf, nothing is set in stone. One idea is to allow families to make private bookings with deep sanitation of the equipment in between.
