Flooding notice issued for community located just north of Williams Lake

WILLIAMS LAKE — The Cariboo Regional District has issued a flooding notice for the community of Wildwood, located just north of Williams Lake.
“Due to high water levels at Minton Lake, there is currently unregulated water flow occurring at the Minto Lake dam spillway,” reads a CRD news release. “Residents of the Wildwood community are asked to exercise extreme caution and be on the alert for unexpected increases in the waterways downstream from the dam, as water levels continue to rise.”
The release goes on to say that low lying areas may experience some flooding.
“Area residents are reminded that sandbags and sand are available for free on a self-service basis at the Wildwood Fire Hall.”
