PRINCE GEORGE — It has been over a month since the COVID-19 pandemic has started forcing people to make significant changes in their lives. But also in that time, there has been a lot of work to help people in need, including one Facebook group bringing together nearly a thousand local volunteers.

On March 13, the Facebook page COVID PG Volunteers for All was created. It started out as a group to support seniors but with close to one thousand members, it has grown into potentially the largest community support group through the pandemic in Prince George.

The supports provided ranges from helping to fill hampers for local organizations to delivering Tylenol for a mother in need. Another is the Trucker Bag Project. It holds some sort of beverage, protein-based treats, fruits, and prepackaged food.

Anyone in need can message the admin team of the group to get connected to a sponsor or a group call out. Admins can also be reached for anyone looking to help with volunteering.
