VICTORIA — Another new case of COVID-19 in Northern Health to bring the region’s total to 34. There are 29 new positive cases of the novel coronavirus in British Columbia for a total of 1,647. Three new deaths have been recorded, all of which are from long-term care, for a total of 81 deaths in BC. As for full recoveries, that number is at 987 patients.

As always, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry pleaded the importance of following the guidelines put in place to curb the spread of COVID-19, “We can’t lose sight of the fact that we continue to have people affected by this. We continue to have outbreaks, we continue to have transmission, so we are not at the point yet where we can let down our guard.

“The risk of a spike, or another outbreak, or more clusters in our communities, is something that’s a very real concern for me and we know it continues to happen.”

Dr. Henry also recommended anyone wanting up to date details of the pandemic for the province to visit the BC Centre for Disease Control’s interactive dashboard.
