Police investigating 16 crime scenes: RCMP offer update on Nova Scotia mass shooting

oNOVA SCOTIA—RCMP Superintendant Chris Leather updated the public on the mass shooting that occurred over the weekend.

19 people died in relation to the shooting, one of which was an RCMP officer.

Const. Heidi Stevenson is one of the deceased.

Leather expressed his sincerest condolences to family and friends of Stevenson’s—along with those of the other deceased.

An 11-year RCMP veteran who suffered gunshot wounds in relation to the shooting is now at home recovering.

Leather went on to say that the 19 victims were all adults, some were known to the suspect and others were targeted, and not known.

RCMP are currently at 16 different crime scenes collecting evidence to piece together the investigation.

According to police, the suspect was driving a car that resembled that of an RCMP officers and donned RCMP officer clothing.
