New Chamber survey coming

PRINCE GEORGE – The Prince George Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for Round Two.

At the end of March, the Chamber conducted a survey of its members. It asked which level of government was “currently doing enough to support small and medium business?”

The findings were as follows:

*Federal government – Yes: 47% No: 53% *Provincial government – Yes: 39% No: 61% *Municipal government – Yes: 23% No: 77%

But that was at the end of March and, while only two and a half weeks have passed, much has changed.

“Now we can get into the specifics,” explains Todd Corrigall, CEO of the Chamber of Commerce. “We can get into the minutiae of 75% wage subsidies. We find the details on what needs to be done with ICBC. City Council will meet on Monday and discuss their remedial action plan. So we’re going to have a better understanding of what’s out there, what’s available, how easy of not easy is it to access? And who all is eligible for that.”

That will be part of a broader survey to be conducted of its membership, set to launch next week.
