PRINCE GEORGE – The army of volunteer sewers that we introduced to you a few weeks ago has completed their mission.

The volunteers made enough scrub hats to outfit the need of those working inside of the University Hospital of Northern BC.

The sewers are now on a second mission to fight against the spread of COVID-19. They’re now setting their sights on making scrub hats for those working in other health facilities in Prince George.

Darlene Dunn and Lindy Steele are part of team scrub caps. The team is made up of people from the community who cut and sewed over 1500 scrub hats for front line health care workers inside Prince George hospital. WATCH:

The 21 volunteers from the Prince George Hospital Axillary played a large role in making caps.

Team scrub caps will be winding down its army once they meet the demand for other health facilities in Prince George. However, they will continue to support volunteers in other communities in making scrub caps. WATCH:

Darlene Dunn says she is glad they met their goal for the hospital and proud that Team scrub cap has inspired other communities to create their own scrub cap sewing armies.
