LYTTON — A 27-year-old Prince George man is facing charges after RCMP allege he stole a vehicle in Boston Bar yesterday (April 27) morning.

RCMP Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey says it all started when a Dodge Ram 2500 pickup was stolen from the Blue Lake Road area just before 8 a.m.

“Shortly after 8 a.m. frontline officers, patrolling for the stolen pickup truck, spotted a vehicle matching its description travelling above the posted speed limit eastbound along Highway 1,” he says.

O’Donaghey notes moments later officers found the vehicle after “it seemingly left the travel portion of the roadway and become involved in a collision.”

He says the suspect was extricated from the wreckage by fire officials and taken to hospital for medical attention.

O’Donaghey says police also found what they believed to be stolen items inside the wreckage.

The suspect, Justin Bjorklund of Prince George, has since been released from hospital and has been formally charged with possession of stolen property under $5,000, possession of identity documents and two counts of breach of his probation order.
