PRINCE GEORGE—Local RCMP have seized a pellet gun over the weekend, after a report of a possible firearm in the downtown.

A local business owner was reviewing external surveillance images and found two unknown men in possession of what appeared to be a hand gun, on Saturday Apr.25.

Two days later officers located one of the men in the video and found him in possession of a pellet gun, which was believed to be the same as seen in the video.

RCMP seized the pellet gun.

“This is an incident that garnered a lot of attention through social media and perhaps you know…inappropriate… it doesn’t appear to be criminal offence.”—Cpl. Craig Douglass, Prince George RCMP

Prince George RCMP say that no criminal intent was identified and that charges have not been considered.

Cpl. Craig Douglass told CKPG News that if the gun had been used in a criminal way, ie. to threaten and intimidate someone, then charges could be laid against the individual.

“We identified this individual (and) we don’t believe there is a criminal avenue to go down.”—Cpl. Craig Douglass, Prince George RCMP

Cpl. Douglass added that the suspect was cooperative with police and that he has no criminal record.

PG RCMP say the investigation has been concluded.
