OTTAWA—$9 billion to help students across the country amidst the COVID-19 crisis was announced last week, and today Trudeau reminded Canadian students that help is on the way.

The Prime Minister reiterated what he announced last week that 76,000 additional jobs will be created this summer in sectors to help against the fight of COVID-19.

Trudeau said he is meeting with Parliament about the Canada Emergency Student Benefit, in order to get financial support out to students very soon.

Specific supports will be given to Inuit, Metis and First Nations students across the country.

Student grants for low and middle income families will be doubled by the Canadian Government for the 2020-21 school year.

Parents, who Trudeau said have had their hands more full than usual, will benefit from a boost in the Canada Child Benefit.

Trudeau closed this mornings’ address by informing Canadians that the Canadian Forces Snowbirds will fly over Canada starting this weekend in Nova Scotia. They’re taking to the skies to salute all those Canadians who have been abiding by physical distancing rules and are staying home.
