It was a memorable final season of minor hockey for Northern Capitals Captain Paige Outhouse.

Not only did the pride of Williams Lake lead the Capitals to an 18-12-2 record, but it was her best year offensively.

“This year my points went up and I think me and Brette (Kerley) worked really well together,” stated Outhouse.

The Capitals Captain had 7 goals and 17 assists this past season, which was good for 2nd in team scoring.

Outhouse was the only graduating player this year for the Capitals, and now she will be taking her talents across the country to the University of PEI.

“The fit and the school and the hockey just seemed perfect for me,” shared Outhouse.

“Especially coming from a smaller town. The school there is about 5,000 people. So it is smaller and kind of what I know, which is nice, but it’s a change because I am moving across the country.”

With Outhouse being the lone graduating player and the team’s Captain last year, she will be missed by all of her teammates. This includes her line mate and best friend, Brette Kerley.

“Paige has always been one of my best friends growing up in the same town. We won a Provincial Championship here in Williams Lake together,” explained Kerley.

“I felt like she has always been a role model to me even though she is just a year older than me. She has always been there and we always pushed each other to be better and we always had each other.”

Outhouse will join a University of PEI squad who went 14-14 last season.
