Officer assaulted while arresting break and enter suspect

PRINCE GEORGE –A 21-year-old Prince George man was held in custody overnight and will appear in court later today, to answer to assault and break and enter charges.

The suspect fled the scene of a break and enter at home in the 600 block of Ahbau Street early last night before police were called.

An officer confronted the suspect, near the Spruceland Mall and was assaulted with a crutch. Several minutes later, the suspect was located and arrested.The officer suffered a broken hand.
