UPDATE: 3 new cases of COVID-19 in Northern Health, 33 in B.C.

VICTORIA—33 new cases of COVID-19 were announced in the province today.

Three new cases of the virus have been reported in the Northern Health Region, bringing the total to 49 in the north.

Cases by Health Region:

  • Vancouver Coastal Health: 823
  • Fraser Health: 978
  • Vancouver Island Health: 121
  • Interior Health: 174
  • Northern Health: 49

B.C.’s total of confirmed cases is now at 2,145.

One death was reported in the Fraser Health Region by Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and Minister of Health Adrian Dix.B.C.’s death toll is now at 112.

52 employees from the Superior Poultry plant in Coquitlam have tested positive, and a correction was made on the number of employees at United Poultry from yesterday’s report, 35 employees have tested positive.

At the Mission Correctional Facility, 133 inmates have tested positive for the virus. 15 cases related to the Kearl Lake project in Alberta have been identified.

79 people are currently hospitalized, with 24 in ICU.

No new cases in longterm care facilities were reported today.

1,357 people have recovered from COVID-19 in B.C.
