Prince George assault leaves man with life-threatening injuries: RCMP

PRINCE GEORGE — Mounties are investigating an aggravated assault that they allege occurred this morning at a home in the 1200 block of 5th Avenue.

“Frontline officers attended and found an adult male suffering from what appeared to be life-threatening injuries,” says Cpl. Sonja Blom. “He was transported to hospital for treatment.”

She says the Prince George RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit has taken over the investigation.

“Investigators believe this incident was targeted and have no reason to believe the general public is at risk,” Blom adds. “The investigation is ongoing and is a priority for the detachment.”

Police are asking for the public’s help with this investigation. If you saw or heard anything suspicious between 8 a.m. and 9:40 a.m. this morning you are urged to call the Prince George RCMP at (250)561-3300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
