‘If you are making minimum wage, you deserve a raise,”: Wage top up for Essential Workers on way

OTTAWA—Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced a wage top up for essential workers across Canada, this morning.

Justin Trudeau has mentioned bringing more support to those who are essential workers, in the past but today said they are one step closer.

Mentioning that the Canadian government is finalizing details with the last few provinces before going forward with the support.

“We’re relying on these workers now more than ever.”—Justin Trudeau

According to Trudeau it will be up to each individual province and territory to determine who will qualify for the extra support.

“If you are making minimum wage, you deserve a raise,” said Trudeau. As of right now we are unsure what essential services will benefit from the support, or how much the Canadian government will be spending on supporting essential workers across the country.
