Kerley ready for big final year with Capitals prior to going to U of C

It was another productive season for the pride of Williams Lake, Brette Kerley.

The 2nd year Capital played a large part in getting the Caps to an 18-12-2 record by finding the back of the net 18 times and adding 8 assists.

“I think we had a really strong season from the start to the end,” shared Kerley.

“We had a really good group of girls who were easy to play with and I think that was a part of me putting up points. Having a good team on my back. Having good line mates is always a big key in putting up points because you can’t get points if you aren’t getting the puck from your team mates.

Kerley also attributes her strong season to the Capitals coaching staff who helped her grow both on and off the ice.

“I think we had a really good coaching staff, which pushed me to my limits. I think I developed well as a player this year and as a person honestly. Which I think helped my play at the end of the year.”

The 2nd year Cap also spent most of the year on a line with long time friend, Captain, and best friend Paige Outhouse.

“She is a great hockey player. She is just a good team player who always stays positive on the bench. She always works as hard as she can work whether it be a practice and games. You couldn’t ask more from a player,” explained Outhouse.

That hard work has resulted in Kerley being recruited to the University of Calgary for the 2021-2022 season.

However, before then, she is hoping an amazing final season with the Capitals beginning in the fall.
