BC Transit selects vendor to install full driver doors on buses
VICTORIA– B.C. Transit says they have chosen a vendor to complete the installation of full driver doors on existing buses in fleets outside of Victoria and the Regional District of Nanaimo.
Kodiak Mobile Video Installations is in charge of the installations of protective doors, produced by AROW Global Corporation, in around 34 regional transit system locations.
Door installations began in early May in Abbotsford and in Chilliwack, with Kelowna following suit in July. All remaining locations across the province are expected to be completed by this fall.
The service agreement is valued at close to $850,000. The full driver door includes a transparent piece of laminated tempered glass with anti-glare coating and metal base, designed to increase the protection of BC Transit drivers.
