Once again Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry, and Health Minister, Adrian Dix reminded British Columbians to be cautious and careful as we move into our next phase. Henry mentioned that this long weekend is the kick off for summer for many British Columbians and stressed that this summer will be different.

“Lets make this our summer of care and consideration for our families, our communities, and our province.”–Dr.Bonnie Henry

According to health officials when opening up social circles, doing it outdoors is better than being indoors, such as a walk in the park or a picnic.

Health Minister Adrian Dix says that health workers across the province have been busy reaching out to patients to see if they are still willing and able to undergo surgeries, with over 6,000 people being contacted since yesterday.

The province continues to move forward in helping health care facilities complete their single site plans, which restricts healthcare workers to only working at one facility during the COVID-19 pandemic. Out of 545 sites, 495 have completed their plans.

“In BC we bend the curve, not the rules, and that makes all the difference.”–Adrian Dix, Health Minister

Health Minister Dix asked the public to make sure that this weekend British Columbians spend it close to home in order to continue to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
