PRINCE GEORGE — Non-profits have been some of the worst hit by the COVID-19 pandemic but not in the way you might think.

For food and other essentials, it has been relatively good for non-profits, however, it is a different story for money and manpower. That is why the local Rotary Club, Rotaract Club, and Kiwanis Club took the time to host a food drive for the Salvation Army and St. Vincent de Paul, while also sanitizing the products ahead of delivery.

“They’re sorting, they’re sterilizing, and then they have to pack the bags as well since, because of social distancing and COVID-19 and so on, people are not able to go into the facility,” said Brian Leslie, Rotary Club of Prince George President-Elect, of the challenges being seen in non-profits such as Salvation Army and St. Vincent de Paul.
