Skeena-Bulkley Valley MP hails 10-day sick leave commitment made by feds
SMITHERS—Skeena-Bulkley Valley Member of Parliament, Taylor Bachrach has hailed a commitment made this morning by the Prime Minister to work with the provinces towards implementing two weeks of paid sick leave for all workers in Canada.
“If we are to continue to flatten the curve and stop the spread of COVID-19, every Canadian needs to be able to stay home if they are sick. We owe it to everyone in our community to keep each other safe.”— Taylor Bachrach
An agreement to extend virtual sitting of Parliament, with the frequency of meetings increased to four days a week. Additional sittings throughout the summer were also included in the agreement reached between the government and NDP.
Bachrach says that increasing the number of meetings means that MP’s “can continue to hold the government to account,” while also raising issues from constituents.
