‘No end in sight’ to Provincial State of Emergency: Longest in B.C.’s history

VICTORIA—B.C.’s Premier announced the extension of the Provincial State of Emergency today.

According to Premier John Horgan, this two week extension (through end of day June 9) makes this the longest state of emergency ever seen in B.C. The longest one prior to this was during the 2017 wildfires. The Premier also mentioning that there seems to be “no end in sight.”

Horgan announced that as of June 22 MLA’s will return to Parliament, some in person and others still via video.

Lastly the Premier announced the opening of an Urgent Care Facility in Surrey, the second one in the city, and 17th in the province.
