Nine years since the disappearance of Madison Scott: RCMP continue to investigate

VANDERHOOF—It’s been nine years since Madison Scott went missing, and the RCMP continue to call out for the public’s help in piecing together hat happened to the 20-year-old female.

On Friday May 27, 2011, Madison Scott attended a party at Hogsback Lake, a Forest Service Campsite located approximately 25 kilometres south of Vanderhoof.

RCMP say she drove her white Ford F150 pick-up truck, pitched her tent and was camping with a group of her friends, from Vanderhoof.

According to police, the following day, (May 28th, 2011) everyone left the campsite but Madison. She remained alone, in her tent and has not been seen since.

For Madison’s parents, it’s been hard not knowing what happened to their daughter.

“We have learned a lot through this process, but one thing that has become apparent is that information is what drives an investigation. There is no excuse not to call the police with what you know. There is no way to rationalize talking about this case with others and not the police. If you want to know how you can help us, call the Vanderhoof RCMP or Crime Stoppers if you wish to remain anonymous, with any information that you may have because we need to find Maddy,” add Madison’s parents.

This year, the “All in for Maddy 9th Poker-Ride” campaign has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 situation. The campaign aims at bringing awareness to the disappearance of Madison.

Police say that they continue to follow up on and investigate all tips received regarding Maddy, and say they know someone out there has information and urge them to come forward.
