Police receive an increase of reports of illegal use of ATV and dirt bikes

PRINCE GEORGE – Over the last few weeks, Prince George RCMP continue to see an increased amount of reports from the public regarding persons using ATV and dirt bikes improperly.

According to RCMP, these reports come from all over Prince George and include uninsured dirt bikes being ridden on streets and highways.

Also reported are dirt bikes being ridden aggressively on local walking trails.

According to provincial legislation, motorized off-road vehicles such as dirt bikes, ATV’s and UTV’s may cross roads at controlled intersections, provided they are registered with the province and have a number plate or sticker.

Otherwise, uninsured dirt bikes, ATV’s and UTV’s are prohibited from roads and highways.
