Avoid 3rd and Victoria this morning, asks City

PRINCE GEORGE—If you can, stay away from Third and Victoria this morning.

That’s what the City of Prince George is asking residents to do as a new watermain has been installed overnight, and pressure-testing gets underway this morning.

Water service in the area may have been disturbed during the installation of the new watermain, however, the City says that water should be restored, very soon.

Backfilling of the excavation is also underway in order to prepare for the re-paving of the area. Once paving gets underway the intersection will partially re-open to single-lane alternating traffic, however, the public is asked to avoid the area if possible.

The project is scheduled for completion later this morning.

The province is investing $350 million in transportation projects in northern B.C.
