B.C.’s Tourism Sector benefits from $400,000 to keep industry strong amidst pandemic
VANCOUVER—Tourism sector associations across B.C. will benefit from $400,000 through Destination B.C.
Tourism sector associations support an abundance of activities in the province such as mountain biking, camping, and ocean boating. The funding will allow sector associations to continue to support their members, provide direction on the implementation of health and safety measures, and develop sector-specific marketing plans in partnership with Destination B.C.
“Tourism sector associations play a key role in supporting people working in the tourism industry and demand for their services has increased significantly during COVID-19.” — Lisa Beare, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture
Currently Destination B.C. (a provincially funded, industry-led Crown corporation supporting a strong and competitive future for B.C.’s tourism industry) works with 15 sector associations across the province, including the B.C. Farmers Market and B.C. Craft Brewers Guild.
