A dream come true

It’s been exactly one week since the winner of the Spruce Kings Show Home was announced and for Raylene Lupul of Prince George the special moment of hearing she won the grand prize draw still hasn’t sunk in.

“No, it hasn’t. Every time I think about it or I come back around, all of the emotions are right there again.”

This past Friday (May 29th) was a typical day for Raylene. She was working away in her office when all of a sudden her phone began to buzz.

“Being at work you kind of just forget about it. Then Katie phoned me and it was like oh my goodness! I was in one of the offices at the store and Katie calls and ask if this is Raylene and then asks if I had purchased a ticket for the Show Home and I said yes. Then she told me my name was drawn and then I started to cry,” shared Lupul.

After getting the call that she won the house, her phone started to blow up.

“Some of them were watching the Facebook feed,” explained Lupul.

“That’s why I started getting so many phone calls right away. They all were watching. My niece, my mother in law, my brother, and everyone was phoning me before I had the chance to call them.”

Then just a couple hours after being announced the winner of the Showhome, Raylene got to see her brand new house for the very first time in person. A special moment, which she got to share with her daughter.

“My family has always been a big part of our lives. To be able to include my family in something like this is amazing. Not only is it for myself and for my husband, but for the rest of my family as well,” stated Lupul.

However, with it just being Raylene and her husband in their current home, they are undecided if they will end up keeping the brand new house, but regardless they know this is a moment and an experience they will remember for the rest of their lives.

“In fact, I pulled out my ticket and I am going to frame the ticket and I have a photo in front of us at the house and I am going to frame it. One of the girls at work showed me the live feed and I just see the barrel turning and then sticking the hand in the barrel and pulling out my ticket. It’s like look at all the tickets in that barrel and they pulled out my ticket. Wow.”

What makes the win even more incredible for Raylene…she only purchased 1 of the 11,000 tickets available.
