Pride crosswalk defaced amid Pride month

DAWSON CREEK—RCMP are searching for more information on a Chevrolet pick-up truck, after surveillance footage showed it defacing a Pride sidewalk.

Dawson Creek RCMP say that on Tuesday, June 2, at around 5:30 p.m. a bronze coloured, Chevrolet four-door pickup truck with a small white coloured decal on the passenger side of the rear window, was caught via surveillence footage, damaging a Pride painted crosswalk.

The crosswalk is located at 15th St. and 108th Ave in Dawson Creek.

The month of June is known as Pride month, across the world. “We are proud to stand up for all community members regardless of their gender, color, ethnicity, or sexual orientation,” continued S/Sgt. Werrell.

Dawson Creek RCMP say a criminal investigation is underway and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
