Hospitality licencees able to sell existing liquor stock amidst pandemic
VICTORIA— The Province is providing temporary relief to hospitality licensees who have had to suspend their operations due to the COVID-19 situation by allowing them to sell their existing liquor stock.
Licensees will be allowed to sell their current liquor stock to other licensees who are still operating and/or to private liquor stores.
In a release from the Ministry of Attorney General it says that these changes will provide immediate financial relief for licensees who are unable to meet guidelines in place by the provincial health officer.
The authorization granted by the Liquor Distribution Branch is temporary and will expire on July 15. The Branch says that they will review this an other temporary authorizations, as necessary, as the COVID-19 situation continues to develop.
