1 new case of COVID-19 in Northern Health, 10 in B.C.

VICTORIA– One new case of COVID-19 in the Northern Health Region was announced in today’s COVID-19 provincial update.

The one new case brings the north’s total to 66 cases, this after a case was missed in yesterday’s media briefing. Provincially there were ten new cases reported, nine and one epidemiologically linked one.

Cases by Health Region:

  • Vancouver Coastal Health: 908
  • Fraser Health: 1,370
  • Vancouver Island Health: 130
  • Interior Health: 195
  • Northern Health: 66

The new cases bring B.C.’s total to 2,669 test-positive cases, with 183 of those considered active cases. No new deaths were reported.

Another day of no new healthcare outbreaks, meaning that the province remains at 4 outbreaks, all in longterm care. No new cases were reported in any of the longterm care facilities.

No new community outbreaks were reported today either, with Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry saying that they continue to monitor the six ongoing outbreaks.

To date, there are 16 people in hospital and four in ICU. 2,319 people have recovered from COVID-19.
