Wet weather a problem for paving

PRINCE GEORGE – Despite the weather, crews have been out tackling the paving projects identified for this year.

“Nothing sticks as well when things are wet. So it needs to be dry. Warm and dry is ideal,” says Mick Jones, the Supervisor of Streets Operations.

Despite the wet and cool start to Spring, he says the City is on schedule to complete the 41 paving projects identified earlier this year.

Some of the larger projects are Carney Street and Alward Street, as well as Chief lake Road and Bellamy Road. Council approved a budget of $5.6 million for roads this year.
