PRINCE GEORGE – The COVID-19 pandemic has driven many people, locally, to try their hand at growing their own food.

“COVID was just A thing that came along,” says April Ottesen with the Prince George Local Food Group. “It could have been another thing, another disaster. That’s what we’ve been saying for 20 or 30 years.”

But, that’s not possible without a piece of land in which to do that.

There are nine community gardens in the city and their usage is sporadic.
