The honours continue to roll in for Prince George Cougars goaltender Taylor Gauthier.

It was announced Wednesday that the 19-year-old Calgary netminder has been invited to Hockey Canada’s National Junior Team Summer Development Camp.

“Taylor has developed into a premier goaltender in our league and has a proven track record with Hockey Canada,” stated Cougars’ General Manager & Head Coach Mark Lamb in a press release sent out by the team.

Gauthier is one of five goaltenders to be invited to the camp, which will be held virtually from July 27th to the 31st.

Gauthier has had past experience representing Canada at the International level.

He represented Canada at the IIHF World Under 18 Hockey Championship, 2018 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, and the 2017 World Under 17 Hockey Challenge.

Gauthier is coming off his best year in the Western Hockey League, where he led the league in minutes played, tied for first in games played and was second in both shots and saves.

He also had a 2.93 GAA, a .917 save percentage, and 2 shutouts.
