Smithers sees return of full service transit starting July 1

SMITHERS—The return of full service for the Smithers Regional Transit system is just around the corner.

The decision made between B.C. Transit and the Town of Smithers was announced today (June 17); full service is scheduled to recommence July 1.

Regular weekly transit service will be implemented once again on all routes starting on the first, meaning that routes will no longer operate at reduced Saturday service levels.

However, B.C. Transit does want to remind the public that there is no service on statutory holidays (July 1, Canada Day) and that the full service will in actuality begin its first day of re-implementation on July 2.

B.C. Transit and the town of Smithers made changes to their transit service system on April 6.
