PRINCE GEORGE – While much of the discussion was around the cost overruns for the new fire hall, there are actually 12 other capital projects in the works to commence this year.

And some of them are significant.

The $35 million replacement pool is one of them, as is the oft-delayed mausoleum expansion and improvements to 14th Avenue. But more than $11 million is committed to improving existing infrastructure, such as $4.6 million for roof replacements. not at all surprising to the mayor.

“Forget about what we’ve got above ground and that capital piece but everything underground,” says Mayor Lyn Hall. “We dealt with 80-year-old infrastructure that we had to rip up along Seventh Avenue.”
