Bike and pizza sales boom during the pandemic

PRINCE GEORGE – According to health officials being outdoors during this pandemic can lower the risk for coronavirus transmission than being indoors.

As more people look for the outdoor experience, there is a growth in demand for bicycles and bike parts and also an unexpected surge in business in the take out food sector.

As more residents emerge from their homes during this pandemic, some are heading for the local bicycle shops.

The staff at Cycle Logic notice the increase in steady foot traffic at the start of the pandemic.

Rollin Chalifoux works at Cycle Logic and says there has been a surge in bike sales and repair during the pandemic.

Forcing them to adjust the way they do business, by hiring one more staff and increase the amount of time everyone works.

The family-owned College Heights 2 for 1 pizza saw a decrease in business during the first few weeks of the health crisis.

Over the past few months, pizza orders have increased. Sukh Suran owner/operator of College Heights 2 for 1 Pizza says if the pandemic continues more staff may be needed to keep up with demand.

Both business are appreciate the community support, and see a lot of new customers come into their business as they want to support local during this difficult time.
