Changes to transit in Dawson Creek

Jun 23, 2020 | 8:00 AM

DAWSON CREEK–Changes are coming to Dawson Creek’s transit system.

B.C. Transit and the City of Dawson Creek are implementing service changes starting Monday, June 29 and a fare change effective Wednesday, July 1.

The service changes will see changes throughout the transit system, including:

  • Discontinuation of route 3 Central
  • Routing adjustments on route 2 Southside
  • Schedule changes and service hour reductions
  • Discontinuation of Saturday
  • Removal and relocation of bus stops

The fare change will see the introduction of the DayPASS-on-Board program. The DayPASS offers unlimited travel in the system on the day of purchase. DayPASSes can be purchased exclusively onboard the bus for $4.50 or exchanged for two bus tickets.

Due to this change, bus drivers will no longer offer transfers.

BC Transit will also introduce the Family Travel Program which offers adult customers with a valid pass (monthly, DayPASS, BC Bus PASS) the ability to bring up to four children–12 years and under–onboard for free.
